IALL 2012: Toronto, Canada

I completed a week in Toronto at the International Association of Law Libraries Annual Course. I enjoyed rediscovering Canadian legal sources and traditions  My first job as a law librarian assistant was at UBC in Vancouver, Canada, many years ago.

Here are some pictures from IALL 2012:

Back Home from Summer Vacation

My family and I are back in Qatar from the summer break and recovering from jetlag. We spent some weeks in Spain and a month in California. The kids will have some adventures to remember this summer. Here are a few pictures. Happy travels.

Ngorongoro Safari

My safari in Tanzania ended and the pictures capture some of the excitement. My family was fortunate to have good weather and our safari guide was fantastic. Here are some of my favorite scenes.

Next week is a Spring Break at QU. My family and I will be travelling to Tanzania which is five hours from Doha and on the same time zone. Luckily, we have friends in Arusha near the game parks and will look forward to blogging about it! Ciao

Weekend Desert Retreat

I took time off this weekend for some overnight camping in the Dunes. Seven white Land Cruisers took a group of 60 of us south to the Inland Sea, and then to a camp by the beach. That night we spent in the tents with sleeping bags and the wind blowing all night. We lit a bonfire but it lasted less than one hour. The following night was a Qatari wedding. Just an incredible weekend and thanks to my wife Irma for staying home with the kids! I owe you one.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi travels

My family and I spent New Years in the UAE. The big city feel and amazing buildings are not to be missed. Great times.
